We are not Kirby vacuum dealers. We do not sell Kirbys. This is a pure review.
The Kirby vacuum cleaner is the vacuum people think of most when you say “door to door”.
The vacuum cleaner itself has many good features that create a valuable vacuum package, But it isn’t perfect. Here are the pluses and the minuses.
The Kirby is a brilliant piece of engineering. Every vacuum cleaner store owner I’ve ever talked to says that the Kirby is very well made. The motor is mostly metal, and there are many metal components that are high quality and will provide decades of service. The fan is made from LEXAN and is very durable. It takes a lot to break a fan, and they are easy to change, if you take the machine to an authorized dealer for service. The motor isn’t very powerful, but it spins the air through the motor very quickly. And it is the speed of the airflow, not the amount of raw power, that determines how well a vacuum cleaner picks up the dirt.
The nozzle has eight height adjustments. That is the most number of height adjustments of any vacuum cleaner we have seen. This way you can get the nozzle very close to the correct height no matter what kind of carpet you have. The brush roller is wood and flutters the carpet well when the nozzle is at the correct height.
The cord is 32 feet in length. Except for commercial vacuums, the longest cord available is only a few feet longer.
The Kirby has the best transmission made so that the Kirby will be self-propelled. These transmissions last for decades. I almost never see a transmission that needs service.
The filtration is accomplished by a HEPA filter liner in the cloth outer bag. The filtration is excellent, but any pet odors end up getting trapped in the cloth outer bag, and need to be laundered out.
The Kirby factory is located in Cleveland Ohio. They are legendary for their complete rebuilding of a Kirby vacuum cleaner. There is a fee, but it is well worth it. The company buffs the metal casing to a mirror finish, and replaces all worn parts for one low fee. The fee involved changes depending on when you bought the Kirby.
There are only a few negatives. The machine is very heavy. Since it is self-propelled, it bushes very easily. So if you have one floor to clean, it’s a plus. But it is a bear to carry up and down stairs. The Kirby has many useful attachments, but you must dis-assemble the nozzle from the main unit to install the hose. It is harder than most other vacuums. The tools are varied and useful
But here is the main flaw with the Kirby (if you can call it a flaw), the motor is built to create immense volume of airflow. But on the attachments, suction, or raw pulling power is what is needed. So the attachments, are weak when compared to any canister vacuum. The shampooer you can get with the Kirby is not a great shampooer. It leaves about 20% of the foam it produces in the carpet to dry. This creates a slightly sticky residue in the carpet. It is also a chore to change the Kirby from a vacuum cleaner to a shampooer. Most people use the shampooer once, and never take it out of the box again.
So our review of the Kirby can be summed up as follows; We love it as an upright vacuum cleaner for vacuuming carpets. Even at it’s price (over $1,00 even for just the basic package), we feel it’s a great investment. But as a canister, to use the straight suction tools, and as Laundry, I think it is serious enough. Here is our client.

A vacuum is a necessity for just about every home and apartment. There’s no better way to tackle the dust and dirt that inevitably builds up in any living space. A variety of different vacuum types are available and it can be confusing to understand how they differ and which one is right for your needs. The most common type of household vacuum is an upright vacuum. It has wheels and is meant primarily for cleaning the floor. It can be used on hard surfaces as well as on carpets. Then this air is pulled through a porous bag that extracts the refuse from the air and traps it for later disposal. Another common type of vacuum is the canister vacuum. It is portable but must usually be carried around instead of rolled. It uses a long tube on which various accessories can be mounted. It can vacuum the floor with the appropriate accessory, and can also be used to vacuum counters, drapes, and possession with a hand attachment.
A hand vacuum is another common type. It can be used with one hand and is used for cleaning up smaller messes. They usually fun on batteries. A shop vacuum is typically a very powerful canister vacuum on wheels. It’s primary purpose is cleaning up waste and dirt from areas like the garage or a shop. As you can see, all these different types of vacuums have different uses, with some overlap of course. Select the appropriate one or ones What you need to clean up.

HEPA filters were originally developed in the 1940s and used in the Manhattan Project to prevent the spread of airborne radioactive contaminants. After the 1950s, HEPA filters were later commercialized and the term became trademarked and known as a generic term to describe any high efficient filter. Over the years, because of demands for improved air quality in various industries such as aerospace, pharmaceutical processing, and healthcare, HEPA filters became commonly used in these industries to help eliminate airborne particulates such as dust, dander, mold, and asbestos.
In order to be considered a True HEPA filter, a filter must be capable of removing at least 99.97% of particulates as small as 0.3 microns. Particles of this size are the most difficult to filter, and they are thus considered the most penetrating particle size, or MPPS. HEPA filters consist of a mat of randomly arranged fibers that target and trap small particles by one of the following three mechanisms:
1. Interception – When particulates follow a line of flow in the airstream within one radius of a fiber and sticks to it.
2. Impaction – When large particles cannot avoid the HEPA fibers and are forced to imbed in one, which also increases with diminishing fiber separation and higher air flow.
3. Diffusion – When an enhancing mechanism results from the collision with gas molecules by small particles, which are impeded and delayed through the HEPA fiber.
Therefore, because of the superior filtration abilities of HEPA filters, they are extremely effective at removing particulates from the air and from surfaces such as carpets and upholstery, and their use can help make the air we breathe significantly healthier. Because our indoor environment contains allergens, chemicals, gas, dust mites, mold, and other harmful microorganisms, the respiratory tract struggles and suffers daily from these harmful pollutants. Poor indoor air quality can also cause symptoms such as itchy eyes, headaches, digestive problems, fatigue, congestion, and many more chronic and acute diseases. In fact, studies have shown that more than every one in three adult, child, or infant suffers from allergies, asthma, or respiratory diseases, and currently, asthma is one of the leading causes of upper respiratory illnesses in children.
Today, most HEPA filters can be found in air purification systems and even vacuum cleaners. HEPA vacuum cleaners use HEPA filters as part of the filtration process, and they are extremely beneficial for asthma and allergy sufferers, as the HEPA media is able to trap the fine particles that can trigger asthma and allergy symptoms. For a HEPA filter in a vacuum cleaner to be effective at particle abatement, the vacuum cleaner should be designed so that all of the air that is drawn into the machine is passed through the filter, with none of the air leaking past. In addition, because of the density of a HEPA filter, a HEPA vacuum cleaner will need a more powerful motor to provide sufficient cleaning power.
There are essentially two basic styles of HEPA vacuums: canister and upright. HEPA canister vacuums usually have smaller, stronger cases that can roll along and follow behind you as you vacuum carpet, furniture, or the floor. A long hose attached to a HEPA canister vacuum cleaner will help you clean hard to reach places. HEPA canister vacuums also often feature detachable rug beaters that are more powerful when compared to those found on upright HEPA vacuums. When the electric motor powered rug beater on a canister vacuum cleaner stops working, the unit can still be used to clean other surfaces. Overall, for homes with mostly bare floors and sparse rugged areas, canister vacuums can help you move seamlessly from one area to the next without scratching your floors.
On the other hand, upright HEPA vacuums consist of a single unit that may or may not come with an attachment hose to help clean hard to reach areas with specialized vacuum tools. Upright HEPA vacuums may leak dusty air back into your home, and since the rug beater bar is permanently attached to the vacuum’s case, once this important component breaks, the entire vacuum will have to be replaced. However, if your home is mostly carpeted, a traditional upright HEPA vacuum may be a better choice, as its beater bar can better churn up dirt and dust embedded below the surface of your carpeting.
In terms of design differences, that are different styles of HEPA canister vacuums available, with the most common being those units with plastic cases utilizing a disposable dust collector bag made of plastic used to catch the dust from your carpet and into the vacuum cleaner. Keep in mind that with these types of models, dusty air may still leak through gaps in the plastic gases and even pass through the exhaust and back into your home environment.
When choosing a HEPA vacuum, also be sure to pay attention to the power of the model, as this is rated by its suction force in inches of water lift and by its air flow (in cfm). Anything with a 90 cfm or above is considered a powerful model and will effectively remove pollutants from your home. Also look to the position of where the HEPA filter is placed. HEPA filters in vacuums can be placed either before or after the motor, and some studies have suggested that a filter after the motor can help catch any fine carbon dust that is generated by the vacuum’s motor. Strong seals to prevent leakage are also extremely important in vacuums that the filters after the motor.
Nevertheless, whether you choose a canister or upright HEPA vacuum cleaner, rest assured that it can help eliminate dust and dander from your home, and also alleviate your Asthma.

Hoover vacuum cleaners are manufactured by Hoover, an American company founded in 1907.
Of all vacuum manufacturing companies, Hoover’s story must be the most interesting one. In 1907, Murray Spangler (a janitor who was suffering from asthma) created a new invention to help keep the dust away when he was sweeping. This invention consisted of a tin box, a pillow a fan and a broom handle and it was called the “suction sweeper”.
Murray immediately saw a the opportunity and one year later he partnered up with W.H. “Boss” Hoover, a leather goods manufacturing shop. The small shop soon become popular, due to the quality of their products and a smart marketing plan: the Hoover vacuums were being sold through small retails stores that were allowed to keep any commission they made.
Hoover vacuum cleaners characteristics
Hoover is one of the leading brands today in the vacuum cleaning industry because they invented many features that are found in any standard vacuum today.
The “beater bar” was first seen in Hoover vacuum cleaners. This feature combines suction with a metal bar. The bar “beats” the carpet and scatters the dust which is than absorbed. This technology allows the vacuum to remove more dust than any other vacuums.
The disposable bags were also invented by Hoover along with the front headlight, side-mounted house and self-propelling vacuum.
What Hoover vacuum cleaner to buy?
Hoover manufactures an extensive line of vacuum types, including uprights, canisters, hard floor cleaners, handled sticks, wet/dry, central vacuum and others.
The most popular Hoover vacuums are the uprights due to their unique “bagless wind tunnel” feature. This allows the vacuum to create the suction very close to the ground and trap any dust before it can escape back into the air. Uprights are light and very easy to maneuver, and are perfect for quick and efficient jobs.
Canister Hoover vacuums are also very sought after. They not only have the same “bagless wind tunnel” technology, but their suction power is actually better than that of an upright. Their nozzle is another plus, became it allows you to clean areas that are hard to reach.
Hoover steams do an excellent job removing any stains on your carpet. They’re also good for vacuuming any pet hairs, giving you carpet the cleaning it deserves. If you carpet is really in trouble, instead of renting an Hoover carpet cleaners can be considered an expensive shop. Is provided with SpinScrub brushes give a deep clean.
If not, continue the Hoover vacuum or a Hoover vacuum cleaner, the other owner of the most popular model, the right to read the reviews, you're not sure if you could read the words:

A steam cleaner for hard surfaces has a lot of cleaning advantages that make it the cleaning tool of choice. It is easy, cheaper than constantly buying new cleaning supplies, environmentally friendly, and highly effective.
To effectively clean your home you would typically need to carry around a few different bottles of cleaning chemicals, rags, brushes, and a mop and/or vacuum to take care of everything. When you have a steam cleaner you just need a steam cleaner and possibly a cloth for wiping down surfaces if you’re using a portable hand held unit for all hard surfaces instead of a steam mop (which is meant primarily for the floor). You fill the unit with some water, wait briefly for it to heat up, and you’re ready to clean! When picking a unit you’ll want to make sure you pick one that is light enough for you to carry around your home to make things easy on yourself, but most units are built with this in mind.
Steam cleaners only use water, so there are no chemicals for you to deal with. This is easier both on the environment, and your wallet. The product itself will cost you money up front, but after that there aren’t really accessories for you to constantly buy and replace–a good product will come with some extensions for cleaning various surfaces-and the money you’ll save on constantly buying supplies will end up saving you over time. You also don’t have any disposable wipes or paper towels to buy and throw away, which is again both cost effective and environmentally friendly.
Another advantage that comes along with the lack of chemicals is that you don’t have to worry about harsh chemicals ruining your nice surfaces, like hardwood floors or nice tiles. Steam cleaning is both easy on your home and effective at cleaning up a mess.
For all of these reasons you should seriously consider using a steam cleaner for hard surfaces in your home.

Organizing your work space is something that you should do. This is how declutter can change your life: it impresses the boss, coworkers and even clients. An organized workspace shows the illusion (or reality) of the type of person you are. Having a declutter day in your office is a way to make yourself more efficient. If you know where things are, it’ll be easier to finish your work. That beats having to go through all your stuff only to find out that what you’re looking for is not there. With a clean and organize work place, it is easier to work and easier to finish tasks.
You can hire a decluttering service but you can do it on your own. Decluttering is fairly simple and straightforward. Begin your task by considering the layout of your office. Especially when space is limited, you should know how to manage the area to make it more efficient. To achieve this, place tables and cabinets in areas where they are easily accessible. Think about their height, width and length to get a better image of the final layout. Your declutter day will be easier if you know what items you need and what needs to be disposed.
Strategically place office materials and equipment. Copiers, printers, faxes, computers and other frequently used machines must be within easy reach. Moreover, make sure there is ample space for their paraphernalia if there are any. Books, magazines and other reading materials can be best stored using cabinets or bookshelves. Again, place them strategically so you won’t be empted to just throw your stuff on the table.
In addition, pay close attention to your desk. This area gets to have the worse time of all. The common culprit for the disarray is the tons of documents that get tossed on it. Try labeling folders, racks or in/out trays. More importantly stow them away immediately. Place trinkets like tacks, rubber bands in small containers. In the end, take time each day in putting your space in order. The discipline to organize is what you need on a daily basis. It’s hard at first, but you will eventually get used to cleaning your office space everyday.
If your space is quite manageable, you can do it on your own. However, if your office space is big and there are only a few people to help, it’s a good idea to get decluttering services for the job. Organizing is not merely putting things out of sight. It is about how declutter activities is done to make things more efficient and orderly.
